It took me a while to piece all the details together for this title! In addition to there being a straight sales page for each edition there was an offer to purchase a subcription to Postscripts (The PS Publishing quarterly magazine). Folks signing up for a pre-paid 5 year subscription to the limited edition of Postscripts would get a free signed copy of One For the Road. Folks signing up for a pre-paid regular hardcover 5 year subscription would get a free unsigned edition. I have a thread about this on the forums....the order links are dead but you can find the subsciption offer pages on the internet archive.

Interestingly when looking up all the various PS Publishing pages/offers on the internet archive and my own forum thread I found some references to a 200 copy edition. I belive this was later expanded and became the 500 copy unsigned edition. If anyone knows anything different please email me and I'll update the page.

The story was originally published in the March/April 1977 issue of Maine Magazine, and was later included in King's 1978 book Night Shift as well as in a paperback anthology published in 1986 called Strange Maine. It serves as a companion story to King's 1975 novel Salem's Lot.
