In the movie 'Cujo'', there is a tree featured in the film that Cujo lurks around nearby. In 1997 a bad storm moved thru the area and this tree was struck by lightning and damaged. The property owner called a local tree removal service to have the tree removed. The man who arrived for the job was training on the side to become a Luther (guitar builder). He knew this was where Cujo was filmed and upon viewing the tree (a black walnut tree), he saw that the wood grain pattern was beautiful and perfect for guitar wood. Inspiration struck him and he decided to reach out to Bob Taylor of Taylor guitars. He explained to Bob the significance of the tree and the intricate wood grain and suggested that a special batch of guitars could be made with this tree. Bob agreed entirely! He paid for the tree to he brought to the factory. They produced 250 acoustic guitars with this tree. They featured mother of pearl inlays depicting the story of Cujo. Stephen King was contacted by Taylor to inform him of the project. As an avid guitar player himself, King fully endorsed the product and even agreed to sign the manufacture tag that resides inside the sound hole of each guitar. Stephen King was given #1 of 250, and Bob Taylor took #2 (reddit)

There is an excellent page on tdt.org with many close up photos of the guitar.
